Event FAQ

What is Ronald McDonald House Charities? Who does this event benefit?

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware (“RMHC Greater Delaware” or “RMHCGDE”) serves families with seriously ill children by enabling access to medical care and providing a place that offers comfort, hope, and togetherness.

RMHCGDE’s programs and support services include our 50-bedroom Ronald McDonald House (“the House”), two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, and two hospitality cart programs.

The House provides a safe, comfortable, and affordable “home-away-from-home” for families of seriously or chronically ill or injured children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals, regardless of their ability to pay, their socio-economic background, ethnicity, or religious affiliation.

RMHCGDE also operates two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Delaware, located in the Women and Children’s Center at ChristianaCare’s Newark Campus and in Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware. Family Rooms provide a quiet, peaceful space where families can rest and unwind- located just steps away from neonatal and pediatric intensive care units. Each Family Room hosts a hospitality cart (“Cart with a Heart”), staffed by volunteers, that visits care units to offer complimentary snacks and activities during the wait for a loved one receiving care.
