To our RMHDE families: we’ve missed you!  We remain open for families and you are welcome to submit your own room requests online!

We know that a lot has probably changed since your last stay and that you may have questions about what a future stay with us might look like if you need us. Please read through our FAQ below to learn all about it!

FAQ – Staying at RMHDE

Do I need to be COVID-19 vaccinated to stay?

No. Vaccines are not required.

Do I need to be COVID-19 tested prior to my stay?

No. Testing is not required prior to nor during your stay. Regardless of vaccination status, we will complete a health screening prior to check-in.

Do I need to wear a mask at the House?

Yes. Properly fitting masks over a person’s mouth and nose are required in all program spaces for anyone 5 years of age or older. Masks are available at the front desk if needed.

Do I need a Social Worker’s referral to make a room request?

No! You can make your own room request online. If you are requesting to stay within 24 hours or your child is being treated at a hospital other than Nemours, a Social Work referral is required.

Can my other children (siblings) stay?

Yes. Siblings are permitted at the House. However, a second adult caregiver must also be a registered guest throughout the family’s stay.

Can my family have visitors during our stay?

Visitors are not permitted at this time.

Is there a minimum length of stay?


Are meals available?

Yes! Just like always, dinner is provided every night. Breakfast foods, coffee, tea, snacks, and leftovers are available 24/7 in our family kitchens.

Is transportation available?

Yes! Volunteer van drivers are available to help you run family errands. You can check the schedule on the digital signage in the kitchen or lobby or at the front desk. Shuttles to and from Nemours Children’s Hospital are running 24/7.

What Else Has Changed?

-You are welcome to enjoy meals in your guest room. We have updated our policy on food in guest rooms. You are welcome to enjoy meals and snacks in your guest room.

-We have new spaces! In the past two years, we have renovated our first-floor playroom and family kitchens. We have also updated our dining room furniture and opened our Multi-Sensory Room!

What Has Stayed the Same?

-Background checks are still required. Safety is our priority. Follow the instructions during your room request to complete the background check process.

-Our volunteers and staff are ready to welcome you with a smile. Volunteers and staff are ready to welcome you back to your “home-away-from-home” if and when you need us.
