The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware has been officially certified as a Sensory Inclusive Environment by KultureCity. RMHDE is the first venue in Delaware, and the first chapter in the Ronald McDonald House global system to receive this certification. All staff members have been trained on how to recognize guests with sensory needs and how to handle a sensory overload situation. The House also showcases signage to indicate its’ inclusive status, loud and quiet areas, and where to check-out a sensory bag. RMHDE offers a sensory room and sensory bags (which include noise-cancelling headphones, fidget toys, and a feelings meter) for families to utilize when needed.
RMHDE is also featured on KultureCity’s website and app (iPhone/Android) which includes information about the House and a social story so families know what to expect before their visit.
The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware is proud to provide an inclusive environment to all guests and families!
