Relief Manager/ Guest Services Assistant Needed

Join a team of dynamic individuals, paid and volunteer, who all work together to make our House a “House That Love Built”.

The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware is seeking a qualified Relief Manager to manage the House primarily for one 24 hour weekend shift per month. Responsible for operations of House during time he/she is relieving Resident Manager or Operations Director. The role includes property management, guest relations and volunteer relations. Typical weekend shifts are Friday 6:00pm to Saturday 6:00pm and/or Saturday 6:00pm to Sunday 7:30pm. Position requires overnight stay in the relief manager room and at least one Holiday shift per year.

Candidate must also be willing to train as a Guest Services Assistant, those responsibilities include the greeting and assistance of families coming to the Ronald McDonald House, answering phone calls and inputting information into our Guest Registration Computer System. A typical shift for the Guest Services Assistant is 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday with a minimum of one shift per month in this role.

Candidates must be self-motivated with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, along with strong computer skills. High school degree required with minimum age 21.

Hourly rate for both positions is $12.25.

Maintenance Assistant Needed

Position Summary: Responsible for performing minor repairs and maintenance of the facility to ensure that the House and Grounds are safe, secure and in good repair.

Position Reports To: Operations Director

Non-Exempt

Hours: 20-25 hours a week. Hours are flexible, but generally between the hours of 8:00am-4:00pm

Primary Duties /Responsibilities:

  1. Assist Operations Director and Resident Manager with daily, monthly and yearly property inspections to determine maintenance needs.
  2. Assist Operations Director with coordination of repairs and maintenance of House.
  3. Document all inspections and maintenance needed and when completed.
  4. Perform minor repairs to equipment and/or physical plant (i.e. painting, fixture repair, plumbing, etc.).
  5. Develop inventory of required supplies to maintain the House.
  6. Occasionally supervise volunteer groups to ensure tasks are performed satisfactorily and that the groups have a positive experience.
  7. React to maintenance related incidences, such as spills and leaks. Remedy promptly.
  8. Plan jobs on a top priority basis, regarding guest, volunteer and staff safety.
  9. Serve as an active member of the Building and Grounds Committee.
  10. Work cooperatively with housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are in good working order before turning over for new guests.
  11. Utilize computer programs for building maintenance and calendars, email, and online purchasing.
  12. Assist with maintaining outdoor space including emergency lighting, outdoor grill, and other areas around the property.
  13. Perform additional tasks as assigned by Operations Director or Manager on Duty.
  14. Represent the House in a compassionate and empathetic manner when interacting with guests.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Prior experience in maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills.
